No doubt Eduardo’s goal will be relived on youtube for some time (until the FA Video police takes it down), a goal that has already been described as one of the best ever. It certainly was one of the best goals ever to go in at the Emirates.
Since the injury to Eduardo last year there have seem to be something missing from the team, I feel that Eduardo’s presence brings out the best in the players. It’s something intangible that seems to light a fire in the rest of the players.
I’m not claiming that it will last forever or that we can’t win without him, but you can feel the energy he brings even from upper tier row 32.
You can only be as strong as your weakest link and when players like Song and Eboue perform like they did yesterday then we can be very strong.
Competition always being out the best in you and with players coming back from fitness bodes well from the competition within the squad. Players like Adebayor cannot take their place for granted if they continue to play like donkeys.
Denilson who has always worked hard can see his spot in the starting squad slip away if he doesn’t step up his game. On Wednesday against Roma we will see just how much the team has improved.
