Morning all, as usual on a Monday morning during the transfer window we are all looking for anything that would give us an clue as to who will be joining our beloved Arsenal.
The only person who can shed any real light transfers is Arsene himself, and what we know for sure this morning is that while Gokhan Inler was an Arsenal target he is not on the radar now. Which leaves us with absolutely no clue as to who Wenger is targeting.

Arsene on Inler - "in the summer yes, but not now"
Skimming through the papers there was the usual names being thrown out as Arsenal targets, Alessandro Rosina is said to be a loan target, this was mentioned in the Italian press a week ago, I am surprised that it took so long for his name to be mentioned here. There’s stuff about Gallas (again), this time in a move to Juve (again). Still the Arshavin thing won’t go away along with Arteta, some West Ham players even N’zogbia has his say.
One story I could not help but notice was in the the Daily Mail — who I think has a real problem with either Arsenal or Arsene Wenger — a publication that cannot help themselves but to print more crap About the Arsenal.
Today their angle is “Theo to leave for £400k”, this follows from their “close friend” source who claimed that Theo is “frustrated” with the club for not opening contracts talks. What irks me even more than the Daily Mail is that every other publication just regurgitate the same rubbish.
In less infuriating news we’ve drawn last year’s FA cup sponsored by EON finalist in the next round of the competition. By the way what is it with the stupid “sponsored by EON” bit tucked to the end of the FA cup, that is so friggin’ irritating. Every single time the FA Cup is mentioned we have to hear that stupid addendum.
So as I was saying we’ve drawn Cardiff City in the FA Cup 4th round. While Cardiff is currently in 4th place in the championship I would expect Arsenal to show them due respect but eventually come out winners of that tie. I could be a homecoming for Ramsey, but unless injuries forces the boss I don’t think he would submit the youngster to such an emotional test.
Another player who has a tough mental test coming up is Eduardo. Tonight the Arsenal reserves take on West Brom in an away game that should be more of a physical test for the crozillian. Against Portsmouth he did well, but he wasn’t subject to any real physicality in that game. I feel tonight’s opposition will be a much tougher game physically for Eduardo. It should give us a good indication as to how far his overcome the mental hurdles of rehabilitation.
There are some players in the squad that needs a bit of mental readjustment themselves. Watching the Plymouth game I thought that while we did well and was always in control of the game, the way some players look like the are just going through the motions is really infuriating. Yeah I’m talking about you Mr. Bendtner — although I very much doubt you’re reading this — but simply put PULL YOUR FINGER OUT, MAN.
Anyway I’m not going to go further than that at this point, we had a good win, Robin “the man” Van Persie was on fire, Nasri showed a glimpse of what he could do in the centre, and when Carlos Vela came on he injected a whole lot of life into the game.
So a good win, a good draw, all in all a great weekend. Have a good Monday and see you back tomorrow.
