Two days later and I still find defeat against the sp*rs hard to swallow, here’s my thoughts.
1.) We need to remember that whilst it would be good to win a trophy the Carling cup is just “further education for those players ahead of reserves but not ready for the first team. It was never meant to be taken seriously.
2.) Defeat is hard to take because of the round, scoreline, and the opposition. Think about this would we be so mad if we had lost in the Quaterfinals? Would be so bad if the score was 3-0 (5-1 is one more goal different)? Finally would it hurt so much if it was anyone else but sp*rs?
3.) This is not the first time that the veterans on the team has let down the youngsters. Yes I’m talking about Messrs. Gallas, Silva, Hleb, and co.
4.) 6 Shots on goal, 5 goals, 1 off the post nothing you can do against that.
5.) The run had to come to an end sometime, this is sport, these thing happen, it hurts, but it’s not the end of the world.
Let them enjoy it while it lasts, let us move on.
