Except for the small amount earned for actual games played Champions league TV money has nothing to do with how many teams left in the competition at this stage and everything to do with your domestic tv market combined with how well you do in your league.

Arsenal still on form.

Both sides were shit, both contrived to give away the ball as often as they could without it looking too unprofessional, United simply edged it and 1-0 was no more or less than they deserved. Truth be told if that was between two mid-table teams we would be lamenting the shoddy football displayed last night.

Blame Wenger and his youth experiment.

Was Middlesborough a rehearsal for next season?

As preparation for games go I’d say that instead of the game being a rehearsal for the next game, it was a rehearsal for next season. The good thing being that Djourou was able to get some minutes under his belt and players like Cesc, and Walcott was able to be taken off quite early in the game.
